The development of specific equipments for the application in the oil and gas industry has been growing during the last years. Considering this context, the project "Special techniques for measuring residual stress with focus on the oil and gas industry - T3 Project" has been included. The aim of the project is the development of equipments and procedures to be used in field in order to measure residual stresses as well as the mechanical properties of the materials applied in gas and oil pipelines. The T3 project is the result of an earlier project called as CARD3, which also focuses on the measurement of residual stresses. As a first result, it is expected to improve the measurement system which combines the hole drilling technique and optical methods in order to be optimized for in field applications. The incorporation of improvements in hardware and software also aims to enlarge the materials drilling range of the measurement system allowing the evaluation of harder materials as well as alloys with high ductility. This TCC project deals with the improvements in hardware. Consequently, a set of electronic circuits from the CARD3 project has been replaced and/or modified to achieve more robustness. Among the changed circuits, the PWM modulation circuit with duty cycle of 0 to 100%, commanded by an analog signal, can be highlighted. In addition, other novel circuits have been incorporated due to new functions of the measuring system. They are mainly related to the integration of the new drilling system which is composed of an electric motor. After their validation, the circuits were added to the equipment used for both in field and laboratory measurements.
