The application of measurement system for remote monitoring of building is very dis- seminated in developed countries, in which they are called Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). Sensors are installed along the structure to measure displacements and strains that could indicate the deterioration of its stability. The info are used to generate reports, diagnostics and alerts that helps in the actions of maintenace which ensure the opera- tional reliability of those structures by saving costs. Unfortunately, in Brazil, this practice still is a exception destinated to few cases, prevailing casual visual inspections in the buildings and a lot of emergency repair by expansive costs, when not buildings are interdicted because of structural collapses, in which a lot of cases end up with people wounded or casualties. With the advance of the internet and connected devices, the Internet of Things (IoT) has opened a lot of possibilities of monitoring in countless applications and the Structural Buildings sector can benefit greatly with new sensors and technologies of communi- cation and data processing. Several systems have been developed to facilitate the implementation of monitoring solutions using the internet, opening great opportunities of innovative solutions to Structures Buildings. This essay deals with the development and metrological validation of an IoT application for the monitoring of building structures. Developed in partnership with a tech company from the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, this work had the goal to create an the planning to applicate the equipment of IoT for the monitoring of displacements in structures in order to evaluate its operational stability. A module of smart data collect was used and around it a monitoring solution was configured, built and evaluated in laboratorial conditions. The results shows that the system has excellent potential to be applied in the proposed purpose.
