The constant miniaturization of electronic components and the increase in the frequencies at which they must operate are among the main factors responsible for electromagnetic compatibility issues. The crosstalk effect, caused by the influence of one trace on another, can lead to undesirable behaviors throughout the system. Since this effect is related to electromagnetic fields, its detection can be a challenge in the final stages of a project. Therefore, this work aims to analyze how to use the EMCoS Studio software for the modeling and simulation of printed circuit boards. For this purpose, three similar board models were modeled and simulated, considering the use of a reference plane to mitigate crosstalk effects, and three models based on the guard trace technique. The objective of these simulations was to assess the radiated electric field. All these boards had the electric field of their physical counterparts measured using a near-field scanner. To verify the results, both simulated and practical, they were analyzed through the generated heat maps. The results confirm, through the behavior of the heat maps, the viability of using the software.
