Pathological manifestations correspond to damages that affect buildings and can be identified in their structural elements, compromising durability, functionality, and, in more severe cases, the safety of structures. These problems may arise at different stages of a building’s life cycle due to design flaws, construction execution issues, inadequate use, lack of maintenance, or the action of aggressive agents characteristic of marine environments. This study aimed to analyze the pathological manifestations resulting from corrosion in a reinforced concrete structure located on Galé Island, in the municipality of Bombinhas, Santa Catarina, through the analysis of photographic records and a budget report provided by a company specialized in structural recovery, based on technical-scientific literature and applicable technical standards. The research is characterized as a case study, developed through a literature review and technical analysis of the available material. Among the main pathological manifestations identified are reinforcement corrosion, concrete spalling in columns, beams, and slabs, the presence of cracks, and localized loss of reinforcement cross- section. As a result, a technical checklist for visual inspection was developed, and the GUT Matrix was applied as a support tool for identifying and prioritizing maintenance interventions. It is concluded that the study contributes to the understanding of deterioration mechanisms in reinforced concrete structures exposed to marine environments, in addition to demonstrating the applicability of the checklist and the GUT Matrix as auxiliary instruments for planning future inspection, maintenance, and structural recovery actions.
