Design e sustentabilidade: desenvolvimento de uma cadeira em MDF a partir de resíduos de uma empresa de móveis planejados de Florianópolis

O presente trabalho propõe o desenvolvimento de uma cadeira voltada a mais de um ambiente residencial, feita a partir de resíduos de MDF da produção de móveis planejados da empresa Criare, situada em Florianópolis/SC. O projeto está inserido na área do design de produtos, mais específico na área moveleira, buscando alinhar práticas de ecodesign aos princípios da economia circular, com o objetivo de transformar resíduos industriais em um um novo produto de valor agregado. A cadeira foi pensada especialmente para residências compactas de até 70m² que são cada vez mais frequentes nas áreas urbanas. A metodologia adotada para a construção se baseou nas etapas de projeto propostas por Lobach (2001) dando ênfase ao design centrado no usuário e em suas necessidades. Foram realizadas pesquisas com usuários residenciais, incluindo questionários e entrevistas, além de análises sincrônicas, ergonômicas e de tarefas, com o intuito de mapear dificuldades e oportunidades reais de uso do produto, considerando o deslocamento entre cômodos e a multifuncionalidade da peça. Como resultado, foram definidos requisitos projetuais e especificações-metas voltadas à ergonomia, facilidade de transporte, multifuncionalidade e uso de materiais reaproveitados. A cadeira busca atender um perfil de usuário que valoriza praticidade, funcionalidade e sustentabilidade em sua rotina, permitindo sua aplicação em diferentes contextos e lugares dentro da moradia. Espera-se que a proposta contribua para o debate sobre reaproveitamento de resíduos no setor moveleiro e a criação de produtos mais adaptáveis a ambientes compactos. O projeto reforça a importância do design como ferramenta para soluções comprometidas com o meio ambiente, com a otimização espacial e com o cotidiano das pessoas.
This project proposes the development of a chair designed for use in multiple residential environments, produced from medium density fiberboard (MDF) waste generated during the manufacturing of custom furniture by the company Criare, located in Florianópolis - Santa Catarina, Brazil. The project is part of the field of product design, specifically within the furniture industry, and aims to align ecodesign practices with the principles of the circular economy, transforming industrial waste into a new product with added value and reduced environmental impact. The chair was conceived for compact homes of up to 70m², which are increasingly common in urban areas. The methodology adopted for the development is based on the design process stages proposed by Lobach (2001), emphasizing user-centered design and their needs. The research was conducted with residential users, including surveys and interviews, along with synchronic, ergonomic, and task analyses, to identify real challenges and opportunities related to the use of the product, such as transportation between rooms and multi-functionality. As a result, design requirements and design specifications were defined, focusing on ergonomics, ease of movement, adaptability, and reuse of discarded materials. The chair aims to meet the needs of users who seek practicality, functionality, and sustainability in their daily lives, allowing for its use in different areas of the home. It is expected that the proposal will contribute to ongoing discussions about waste reuse in the furniture sector and the development of products better suited to new living patterns. The project emphasizes the role of design as a tool for creating environmentally responsible, space-efficient, and user-centered solutions.
