Sandy beaches are a common destination for the population to access the sea and social activities, however, there are some risks to their users, with human exposure to jellyfish (EHAV) being a growing threat worldwide. Thus, in this effort, we sought to analyze the occurrences of EHAV during the summer season in the municipality of Garopaba, recorded by the Military Fire Department of Santa Catarina. Specifically, the relationship between EHAV and environmental and climatic conditions was analyzed using statistical models. From the model that best fitted the data, it was evident that the EHAV are influenced by the variables tide height, water temperature and wind intensity. It is concluded that this effort is capable of inferring which variables influence the records of occurrences involving jellyfish on the beaches of the municipality of Garopaba during the summer seasons. Such data provide important support for managing the risk of accidents on the beaches of Garopaba, as well as on the coast of Santa Catarina. However, it is important to highlight that the lack of data indicating the number of people on the beaches is an important point. Therefore, management strategies arising from these results must be cautious. Finally, it is argued that it is important to maintain beach monitoring, complementing the data set with estimates of bathers per beach area.
