Proteção radiológica intervencionista: avaliação da adesão ao dosímetro e equipamentos de proteção radiológica por profissionais de saúde do centro cirúrgico

A crescente utilização de procedimentos de radiologia intervencionista tem ampliado a exposição ocupacional à radiação ionizante entre profissionais da saúde, especialmente em ambientes hospitalares de alta complexidade. Apesar das diretrizes normativas que regulam o uso de equipamentos de proteção individual (EPI) e dosímetros, observa-se baixa adesão a essas medidas, sugerindo lacunas na percepção de risco e na cultura de segurança radiológica. Diante desse cenário, o presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar a adesão ao uso de dosímetros e equipamentos de proteção radiológica por profissionais de saúde em centros cirúrgicos durante procedimentos intervencionistas em fluoroscopia. A relevância da pesquisa reside na necessidade de compreender os fatores que influenciam o comportamento de proteção ocupacional, com vistas à promoção de práticas seguras e à redução de danos cumulativos à saúde. A abordagem metodológica adotada foi qualitativa, de caráter exploratório e descritivo. Os dados foram coletados por meio da aplicação de questionário eletrônico junto a 23 profissionais atuantes em radiologia intervencionista, e analisados para identificar padrões de percepção, barreiras institucionais e elementos facilitadores da adesão. Os resultados indicaram que, embora haja conhecimento técnico sobre os riscos da exposição radiológica, fatores como desconforto no uso dos equipamentos, ausência de fiscalização sistemática e naturalização da rotina de exposição comprometem a adesão efetiva. A pesquisa revelou também a influência de aspectos organizacionais e da formação continuada na consolidação de uma cultura de proteção radiológica. Conclui-se que a adesão aos dosímetros e aos EPIs não depende exclusivamente do acesso aos dispositivos, mas de uma articulação entre conhecimento, atitude, infraestrutura e responsabilidade institucional. Como produto educacional, essa pesquisa originou um Procedimento Operacional Padrão direcionado aos serviços que possuem equipamento de fluoroscopia nos centros cirúrgicos.
The growing use of interventional radiology procedures has increased occupational exposure to ionizing radiation among healthcare professionals, especially in highcomplexity hospital environments. Despite regulatory guidelines governing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and dosimeters, adherence to these measures remains limited, suggesting gaps in risk perception and in the culture of radiological safety. In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate adherence to the use of personal dosimeters and radiological protection equipment among healthcare professionals involved in fluoroscopy-guided procedures in operating rooms. The relevance of this research lies in the need to understand the factors that influence occupational protective behavior, with the goal of promoting safe practices and reducing cumulative health damage. The methodological approach adopted was qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive. Data were collected through the application of an electronic questionnaire administered to 23 professionals working in interventional radiology, and analyzed to identify patterns of perception, institutional barriers, and facilitators of adherence. The findings indicated that, although participants demonstrated technical knowledge about the risks of radiological exposure, factors such as discomfort in using protective equipment, lack of systematic oversight, and normalization of routine exposure hinder effective adherence. The study also revealed the influence of organizational aspects and continuing education in consolidating a culture of radiological protection. It is concluded that adherence to dosimeters and PPE does not depend solely on access to the devices, but on an interplay of knowledge, attitudes, infrastructure, and institutional responsibility. This research contributes to strengthening public policies aimed at protecting workers in radiological environments. As an educational product, this research gave rise to a Standard Operating Procedure aimed at services that use fluoroscopy in operating rooms.
