Avaliação do desenvolvimento de mudas de Butia catarinensis transplantadas em extremos sazonais no município de Imbituba/SC

O Butia catarinensis é uma espécie endêmica do litoral sul do Brasil, desenvolve-se na restinga e possui grande importância socioambiental, tem sido usada pelas populações locais do litoral de Santa Catarina para uso e sustento familiar, no entanto, encontra-se ameaçada de extinção. O transplante é uma estratégia para conservar uma espécie vegetal. O aperfeiçoamento da técnica do transplante pode trazer resultados expressivos na recuperação da espécie, além de ajudar a reposição de áreas degradadas. Neste contexto, este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a influência das variáveis meteorológicas na fase inicial do desenvolvimento de mudas de Butia catarinensis transplantadas no município de Imbituba/SC. Foram transplantadas 60 mudas de Butia catarinensis, sendo 30 no início do inverno e as demais no início do verão e mensurados mensalmente o crescimento em diâmetro e altura da estipe. Paralelamente foram mensuradas as variáveis meteorológicas de temperatura do ar, precipitação acumulada, umidade relativa do ar e radiação solar global. Numa avaliação mais ampla, observou-se que os diâmetros médios das plantas transplantadas no inverno apresentaram um melhor desenvolvimento, enquanto que na altura não houve esta diferença. A variável meteorológica que melhor correlacionou com o desenvolvimento das espécies foi a umidade relativa, ocorrendo uma associação inversa, indicando que os períodos de limitação de crescimento coincidem com os períodos com uma maior umidade relativa, consequentemente com a menor disponibilidade de luz. Estas análises mostraram que o melhor momento para efetuar o transplante das mudas de butias é no inverno.
Butia catarinensis is an endemic species of the southern coast of Brazil, develops in the restinga and has great socio-environmental importance. It has been used by local populations for family use and sustenance, however, it is threatened with extinction. Transplantation is a strategy to conserve a plant species that inevitably occupies an area that will be devastated. Improving the transplantation technique can bring significant results in the recovery of the species, in addition to helping to replace degraded areas. In this context, this study aims to evaluate the influence of meteorological variables on the initial phase of the development of Butia catarinensis seedlings in the municipality of Imbituba/SC. 60 Butia catarinensis seedlings were transplanted, 30 at the beginning of winter and the rest at the beginning of summer, and growth in stem diameter and height was measured monthly. At the same time, meteorological variables such as air temperature, accumulated precipitation, relative air humidity and global solar radiation were measured. In a broader evaluation, it was observed that the average diameters of plants transplanted in winter showed better development, while there was no such difference at the time. The meteorological variable that best correlated with the development of the species was relative humidity, with an inverse association, indicating that periods of growth limitation coincide with periods with greater relative humidity, consequently with less light availability. These analyzes showed that the best time to transplant butia seedlings is in winter.
