This article presents the retrofit process of the servo drive model 9300 manufactured by Lenze for a servo drive SERVOSTAR S300 manufactured by Kollmorgen. The project proposal presented considers the partial retrofit of the application, that is, maintaining the Lenze servomotor. In addition to the proposed solution, the integration of the new device in a PROFIBUS DP network with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) SIEMENS model S7-400 is considered. Among the functionalities contemplated by the PLC, the following stand out: the interface with the Supervisory System for executing commands and status feedback, the management of the control logic of the servo drive Kollmorgen S300 for executing positioning tasks and defining dynamic parameters of the application, for example, acceleration and deceleration ramps and reduction of the speed profile. The need for retrofit of the servo drive Lenze 9300 arises from the discontinuation of this series of products by the manufacturer, resulting, for example, in the difficulty of acquiring spare parts and specialized technical support. In addition to ensuring the functionality and reliability of the system, the proposed retrofit also offers the possibility of cost reduction, as it considers the use of the existing servomotor, software developed to design the possibility of using both servo drives without major hardware and software changes, manufacturing, technical support and spare parts stock in Brazil.
